I’ve tried several different massage modalities- Thai, Swedish, deep tissue, and found shiatsu to be the most rejuvenating and restorative. Francisco took the time to educate me about Chinese medicine and explain what to expect from shiatsu. He really customizes the experience to make you feel comfortable throughout the session. He encourages you to communicate if something doesn’t feel right or if you need a break for water or to use the restroom. Francisco is gentle but highly effective at releasing tension from the body. At the end of the session, he offered a selection of drinks, including water, juice, and coconut water, and gave me plenty of time to ask any questions I had. I didn’t have cash on hand for a tip, so I asked Francisco if he accepted Venmo or Zelle, which thankfully he did. What stood out to me was how incredibly humble and gracious he was when I asked. Especially with how prevalent tipping culture has become, the interaction felt refreshingly different and never transactional. It was another small moment that showed me how genuinely Francisco cares about his clients and the healing experience he provides. Francisco operates out of his home, but there is a separate entrance and a dedicated space for his practice, as well as parking spaces out front. I’d recommend blocking off around two hours for your appointment so you don’t have to worry about rushing out afterward and can fully enjoy the experience. I left feeling incredibly restored and would absolutely recommend Francisco to anyone interested in trying shiatsu.
